Plein Air Painting in Layers Workshops

TETON PLEIN AIR PAINTING IN LAYERS WORKSHOP

Come paint with me in the Grand Tetons ! (Grand Teton National Park and surrounding area)
Experience painting the breathtaking Grand Teton mountains, rivers, lakes and historical buildings around Jackson Hole, WY.  You will learn how to quickly build a composition with depth and values in acrylic, then apply the final layers in oil to bring in relevant detail, subtle light effects and color to create sparkling paintings.  Personal style and expression are encouraged.  The painting in layers method will enable you to get beyond the minutia and put down on canvas your impressions of the visual landscape.  Daily demos, lectures, individual instruction, and critiques.

Dates and Times:

The workshop will begin with an instructional lecture and orientation on a Friday evening in July 2013 to be announced from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts.  We will be painting from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on the following Saturday and Sunday.  Each day we will do two locations, one in the morning and one in the afternoon and we will wrap up with a critique.

Cost:

$195.  Registration ongoing until a week before the workshop begins
